Purse: Pink Haley

Bracelets: Macy's
Heels: Michael Kors

Hello, lovelies!  I am thrilled to share with you my first outfit post of spring 2016!  I recently cleansed my closet, so I am ready to add new items to my spring/summer wardrobe.  Today I am going to share with you the first two pieces I  added to my closet.  Have you guessed them yet?  Yup, it's this gorgeous off-the-shoulder top and the playful checkered skirt!  They are both from the Nordstrom Signature Collection and Caroline Issa line at Nordstrom.  Last summer, I had the privilege to meet Caroline Issa and her design team during a Nordstrom Experience and they were all so wonderful!  I can honestly say that it was the highlight of my year.  Caroline Issa has such a gentle and beautiful soul, and reflects elegance and humility in everything she does.  On top of that, she has an impeccable effortless-chic style, which is reflected in all her designs.  Their spring '16 collection is full of beautiful prints and the colors range from a delicate blush to a vibrant turquoise.  There are so many exquisite pieces from the collection, but my favorites were the black top and plaid skirt.
Looking back at my previous outfit posts, it's a fair assumption to say that I am obsessed with off-the-shoulder tops.  I mean, I loved the style since I was a child, I love it now as one of the spring/summer fashion trends, and I'll probably love it years from now.  So, trust me when I say that this is by far my favorite off-the-shoulder top yet.  Here's why: it's an elegant, timeless piece that's versatile, and above all else, it's incredibly comfortable.  It's definitely a wardrobe staple, but let's not leave out the skirt because this plaid skirt is equally stunning.
When I purchased the skirt online I knew the measurements and planned on having it hemmed because as you know, I'm SUPER tall- yup 4'10" (and yes, I round up).  In the pictures and in the video online, the hem of the skirt was right below the model's knees, but when I tried it on the skirt fell right above my ankles.  I spun around in front of the mirror a few times and I felt as if I twirled out of an old Hollywood movie.  Somehow longer a-line skirts that cinch around the waist remind me of that modest sophisticated look that Grace Kelly would approve. At that moment, I was sold on the longer length; no cutting or hemming needed.
To pull the outfit together, I wore my black Michael Kors heeled sandals and carried around this vintage-inspired box clutch to stay true to my Hollywood Glamour inspired look.  For jewelry, I stacked a couple of bangles on my wrists and popped in a pair of silver flower-drop earrings.  No spring outfit is complete without a touch of floral.  Well, I hope you enjoyed this outfit post.  Hope your day is filled with light and happiness!  Sending you lots of love from my heart to yours!
