Pants: Free People
Earrings: M. Haskell
Bracelet: Vintage
Purse: Pour la Victoire
Shoes: Steve Madden

Hello, my friends!  Today’s outfit post is devoted to these striped pants.  I never thought I would ever see the day I wear striped pants or a striped bottom, but it finally happened.  Here are the reasons why I really dislike striped pants.  1.) They remind me of clowns.  I don’t like clowns.  2.) Most times stripes are going the wrong way for me.  If your body is straight up and down, a striped bottom might give you an illusion of a curvier bottom.  3.)  Since I have wider hips for my size, stripes usually don’t accentuate the bottom half of my body. But, I have to admit, I really love these Free People blue and white striped bell-bottom jeans.  Although I had to get them hemmed, they fit me well and I think the stripes actually elongate my legs.  Well, the stripes and the four inch platform heels I am wearing.  Maybe I like these jeans because the stripes vary in thickness, but whatever it is, thank you Free People for broadening my fashion horizons.
I paired these awesome jeans with a white crop top with lace-up sides.  This pairing in itself, was a bit daring for me because high-waisted pants and crop tops have become my comfort zone.  Showing my stomach, well, that much of my stomach, is not something I do often.  Pushing my insecurities aside, I decided to wear them together anyway.  My stomach is not flat and I certainly do not have a six-pack or any muscle definition (I love french fries too much), but I think it’s important to embrace your body, not society’s standards of “beautiful.”
To sling the look together, I threw on my Pour la Victoire cross-body purse and stepped into my platforms to add an extra four inches to my height.  For jewelry, I popped in a pair of gold chandelier earrings and slid on my favorite gold bangle.  The outfit didn't call for any outrageous accessories since the striped jeans make a statement all on its own.  Let me know in the comments below what you think about striped bottoms.  Love it or hate it?  Hope you enjoyed this outfit post!  Sending you lots of love from my heart to yours!
