Being 4' 10," I have always been hesitant to wear culottes because I felt like they would overwhelm my body. I finally decided to try them on my petite frame- turns out, I really like them! I recently purchased these BarIII high-waisted culottes from Macy's and I styled it with a black body-hugging mock turtleneck for a black et blanc ensemble. I threw over an oversized vest and strutted in my sky high black platform heels. For jewelry, I wore a long silver necklace and bracelet. To give the outfit a sleek and chic vibe, I sported black sunglasses and my favorite silver clutch.
If you are of shorter stature, you can definitely wear culottes and look fabulous. For my fellow short and sweet women out there, here are my three tips for wearing them: 1.) Look for high-waisted culottes because they will give the illusion of longer legs. 2.) Try wearing them with a skintight top. If your pants or skirt is loose, a form-fitting top will balance out the outfit and vice-versa. 3.) It's always a good idea to wear heels with culottes just for an extra boost in height.
