In October, I emancipated my style and I let it run free. I wore bold mixed prints, tried new silhouettes, and allowed myself to indulge in pieces that truly made me happy. As a fashion blogger, I am constantly thinking about the next outfit post and what pieces I want to showcase. And as a fashionista on a budget, I think about the cost, quality, and how often I will wear those pieces. I admit- I've accumulated a ton of clothing and accessories over the years, so my closet is in dire need of a clear out. (If you shop on Poshmark, keep an eye out for new listings!) Sometimes I would purchase items just because it completed a look for an outfit post, but I would never wear it again.
During my two week trip to London and Paris, I gained a new respect for capsule collections. I packed three dresses, three pairs of pants, two bodysuits, two tops, one pair of flats, and one pair of boots. While packing I thought my style would feel a bit stifled because all of the pieces were black, white, or olive. Surprisingly, at the end of the trip, I realized that I would be perfectly happy with just those pieces in my closet. It was a bit of a revelation. So, now when I go shopping, I ask myself, "Will I actually wear these items regularly?" If the answer is no, I will then ask myself, "Do these items bring joy in my life?" I know that question sounds cheesy, but it's true. If an item doesn't bring me happiness, I don't purchase it. Not only does it save me money, it makes me appreciate the pieces I have even more. With that said, all of the items in my October favorites are pieces that truly bring me joy. Let's check them out!
