My love for fur coats began when I was a child. My mother bought my first faux fur coat when I was in second grade and I adored it. It was an ivory coat with two pockets, one on each side, to keep my hands warm in the winter. Every time I wore it, I felt like a movie star and I remember even wanting to wear it to bed because it was incredibly soft and oh, so glamorous! Unfortunately, I grew out of it a long time ago, but it is still my favorite faux fur coat I have ever owned. Maybe it's because it was my first, or maybe because I made so many wonderful memories while wearing it in the cold Washington winters.
Although no coat could ever take its place, here is my favorite faux fur coat as of 2014. This textured black and white beauty is fun and a bit unexpected. Here, I styled it with an all black ensemble and black heels. *(Fashion tip: Wearing an "out-there" piece while wearing black from head-to-toe or with a monochromatic outfit will help tone the outfit down and let the piece take center stage.) Finally, I added a simple "chic" necklace to pull the outfit together. Hope this outfit inspires you to style that "wild" piece of clothing that has been sitting in the back of your closet.
