Shoes of Prey x Nordstrom

During my trip to Washington State, I had the opportunity to design my own Shoes of Prey heels at the Nordstrom store in Bellevue Square. Shoes of Prey is a website where you can design your own shoes and they will custom make them according to your specifications. You can design your shoes either online or in select Nordstrom stores in the United States and they will ship them to you within four weeks. I can't even begin to tell you how much fun I had designing these pair of heels!
Before I started designing, I tried on different heels to determine my shoe size. I can honestly say that they all fit true to size. I normally take a size 5-5.5, so a size 5 was a perfect fit. I also looked at their beautiful display and thought about what style of shoe I wanted to design before actually starting the process.
When I finally decided on a chunky heeled platform sandal, I sat at the round table to design my shoe along with my mom and aunt. There were iPads all around the table, so it was wonderful that we could all design our own shoes at the same time. There were also swatches of all the available fabrics, so it made it easier to imagine how the shoe would look like once it's finished.
I think I sat at the table for about an hour and a half before finalizing my shoe design. I knew I wanted a heel that would be different from all the other shoes I own and one that would be versatile and fun. I am not usually drawn to animal prints, but I fell head over heels for the black and white cheetah print because it was unique and sophisticated. I chose black leather for the heel, platform, and ankle strap. Finally, I added a navy blue insole and the inscription, "Designed by Kristen" for a personalized touch.
I received my shoes in the mail early last week and I am so happy with how they turned out! I love the idea that I designed them and that they are personalized to match the clothes I have in my closet. Can't wait to show you how I styled them in an upcoming post!
