As most of you know, I named my blog after two of my favorite fashion icons: Queen Elizabeth I and Queen Marie Antoinette.  Today is Queen Elizabeth I's birthday, so I would like to dedicate this outfit post to her.  I have been fascinated with the Tudor history, especially Queen Elizabeth I, since I saw the movie, Elizabeth: The Golden Age, in 2007.  In high school I made this multilayered necklace for a British Literature project.  The top layer of pictures are of Queen Elizabeth I at the different stages of her life and the second layer of pictures are of all the people who played an important role in her life.
I normally don't wear it out in public because I like to display it on a necklace stand on my bookshelf.  However, I made an exception for this blog post because I thought it would be the perfect accessory for this occasion.  I wore the necklace with this gorgeous crimson crushed velvet dress by Rachel Roy and an ivory lace kimono cardigan.  Velvet is a gorgeous fabric that exudes a sense of regality, so its texture compliments the elegance of the lace to create a look fit for a queen.  Hope you enjoyed this outfit post!  Sending you lots of love from my heart to yours!
