On a sunny summer day, it probably wasn't the smartest idea to wear a light sweater, but I braved the heat for this photo shoot. Oh, the things we fashion bloggers do for our blog and our Instagram! Call me crazy, but I think it was definitely worth it for this photo shoot. Anyway, let's chat about this look, shall we?
There's just something about starburst orange that always reminds me of this time of year. Maybe it's due to the fact that it's the color of the bottle of one of my favorite fragrances, Sunset Heat by Escada. It has since been discontinued, but every time I uncover the bottle to take in the last drops of the sweet fruity scent, it always reminds me of a tropical location. Whatever the reason may be, I tend to wear this color every summer.
I paired this bright sweater with a pair of high-waisted light wash denim shorts. Pretty simple, right? Since it was a plain outfit, I thought to myself, "What would Carrie Bradshaw wear?" I opted for a pair of matching orange heels, and I went on to accessorize with gold jewelry pieces and an embellished floral crossbody purse.
Isn't this Zara purse exquisite? The embellishments and the embroidery fully embrace the vivid summer flowers. I think it paired well with my Tory Burch gold flower ring and the vintage gold bangle. For this outfit, I also wore a pair of vintage Christian Dior earrings and a long gold necklace.
Accessories can make or break an outfit, but in this case, I think they made this basic outfit interesting and feminine with an artsy touch.
