Since I started by blog two years ago, I have grown up a bit and this change reflects in my style.  As I am maturing, I find myself gravitating to, what I like to call, “investment pieces.”  To me, “investment pieces” are those that are well made and can last through the years.  I have a handful of jewelry pieces that my mother used to wear years ago.  I used to play dress-up with them as a child and now I feature them on my blog.  The quality is impeccable and the styles are classic.  I guess, I am slowly transitioning my shopping habits from “quantity over quality” to “quality over quantity.”
Recently, I purchased a statement necklace that I consider to be an investment piece.  It’s this stunning Sylvia Toledano multi-stoned pendant necklace.  It caught my eye as I was exiting Bloomingdales after a photo shoot.  The color combination of the five different semi-precious stones against the gold-plated brass made the jewelry piece so exquisite.  As a child, every time I visited Leavenworth, Washington, I would purchase a small pouch of polished rocks that I could hand-pick.  I don’t know what it was, but I just had to have one of each color.  Over the years, I have accumulated a substantial amount and even if I don't play with them anymore, I just can’t get myself to give them away.  So in a way, this necklace not only indulges my love for statement necklaces, it tickles the little girl inside me because I can now wear the semi-precious stones I once collected.  It’s a beautiful marriage of my past and the present me.
To compliment this gorgeous pendant and collar, I slid on my favorite velvet dress.  Although both the dress and the necklace are bold pieces that could stand on their own, the merlot colored velvet allows the necklace to take center stage.  This look is reminiscent of the 90’s style, but it's sophisticated and classy.  I can’t even begin to tell you how amazing I feel in this outfit!  This is by far one of my favorite looks I have ever styled.  I truly hope you enjoyed this outfit post as much as I loved sharing it with you.  Sending you lots of love from my heart to yours!  May you always nurture the child within you, no matter how old you become.
