Aloha everyone!  Happy May Day!  For those of you who are unfamiliar with May Day, it is a unique holiday in Hawaithat is celebrated on the first day of May.  We celebrate the “Aloha Spirit” by giving one another a lei, a flower garland.  Every year there are festivals, lei contests, and some elementary and high schools participate in May Day festivities.
In honor of this special day, I wanted to share with you this elegant holomu‘u from Princess Ka‘iulani Fashions.  The tight fitting top portion of the holomu‘u helps to define my waist and it drapes effortlessly from my hips to the ground.  To accent this beautiful piece, I am wearing a hair clip decorated with gardenia flowers and a shell necklace.  However, May Day just wouldn't be Lei Day without wearing a lei, so I decided to also wear the holomu‘u with an exquisite haku lei from Le Flowers.
Starting next week, I will introduce a new segment on my blog called, “Aloha From Hawai‘i" where I will be posting photos that capture the beauty and culture of Hawai‘i.  Stay tuned!  Sending you lots of aloha from my heart to yours!
"Aloha is the key word to the universal spirit of real hospitality, which makes Hawai‘i renowned as the world's center of understanding and fellowship.” - Duke Kahanamoku
