New Year's Resolutions: 2016

Wednesday, January 13, 2016

I just love New Years!  As soon as the clock strikes twelve, it’s like your slate is wiped clean: a new year filled with new goals, new experiences, and new opportunities.  Renewal.  For me, a surge of excitement surges through my body.  I’m recharged and ready to embark on new adventures!  I usually don't make resolutions in the new year because let’s be honest, I usually don't stick to them throughout the year.  However, this year I wanted to come up with a few goals that I could implement every single day rather than resolutions that would take weeks or months to complete.  So, here are my three New Year resolutions for 2016:

Stay Positive.

I’m human.  I get upset, frustrated, and downright negative at times, but those pessimistic feelings will only keep me down.  Seeing all life’s situations as a “glass that is half full” is definitely easier said than done, but I believe making a conscious effort to thwart those negative thoughts from my mind and will help me focus on the goodness in my life even in shitty situations.  This brings me to my second resolution-

Live In Gratitude.

There is so much to be grateful for!  Often times we overlook all the “gems” in our lives and only focus on what we don't have.  I admit, I am guilty of this one.  My resolution is to take a few minutes out of each day to be grateful for something/someone in my life- just sit back, take a breath, and just be grateful.  It sounds weird, but I think gratitude is a key ingredient to a happier and more rewarding life.

Invest in Experiences.

Last, but not least, in 2016 I would like to invest more in experiences and adventures. It’s rewarding to purchase a new dress or that adorable Kate Spade purse you have been eyeing, but I’ve found that it’s even more rewarding to invest in new experiences.  I feel so blessed that I had the amazing opportunity to participate in the Nordstrom Experience with Caroline Issa in July of last year.  I had so much fun and it was one of the best experiences of my life so far!  I haven't planned any big adventure for this year, but I am looking forward to meeting new people, learning new things, and hopefully acquire new skills!

These are my three New Year resolutions!  I wish you all the best in 2016!  I hope it’s filled with lots of light, love, and happiness!  As always, sending you lots of love from my heart to yours!
