During the hustle and bustle of the work week I don't have much time to get all dolled up, but on the weekends I try to put more effort into my outfits. For today's post, I styled a layered look that's perfect for a weekend shopping day. First and foremost, on a power shopping day I need my secret weapon: comfortable heels, so today I chose a pair of simple black heeled boots as my weapon of choice.
To continue with the comfy-chic vibe, I slipped into a stretchy black skirt and tucked in a ribbed ivory top to create a sleek silhouette before throwing on an olive trench coat. I love the pairing of the body-hugging pieces and the billowy over-sized coat because I think the contrast adds a bit of interest to the look. As they say, "sometimes opposites attract." To finish off the ensemble, I popped on a pair of black and gold sunnies, bejewelled my ears with tassel earrings, added a matching bracelet, and swung a practical black purse over my shoulders.
