Wild at Heart

Somedays don't you just wish you could be completely free of all obligations, responsibilities, and escape from your worries?  On days when I feel trapped in my own mind or feel bogged down by doubt, I daydream about being a wild horse sprinting through endless emerald pastures while the sun flickers upon me.  My shadow is nowhere in sight, for I am running too fast for it to haunt me.  And just for a minute or two, I feel as if I am completely free.
Whenever I was frustrated or mad as a child, I would put on my sneakers and just run in the park.  Running was such a powerful soul-healing activity for me because it made feel so weightless, empowered, and it always cleared my mind.  Over the years I developed asthma and a hip problem, which ultimately put a stop to my love of running.

Lately, I've had this urge to start running again, mainly because I've been feeling a bit stuck in life.  We all have these moments where we are not sure which step to take next and what road to explore.  Lots of people have told me, "It's not all about the destination, it's about the journey," but sometimes I just wish a fairy godmother would hand me a fabulous pair of Manolo Blahnik heels, point me in the right direction, and say, "Off you go!  Enjoy the ride!"  Yes, if we always knew that every path would lead us to a place in which we define as "success," we wouldn't learn anything about determination, persistence, and resilience.  Life is not that easy, but wouldn't that be wonderful if it were?  Maybe my fairy godmother just lost my address or maybe unlike Cinderella, I don't have one.  Either way, I am still determined to manifest my dreams into reality, and if it means daydreaming of being a wild horse to clear my mind and center myself, I'm all for it.  After all, I'm no Forrest Gump.   So, although I can't run as fast as a wild horse, I am still wild at heart.  I've got ambition in my heart and fire in my soul.
Let me know in the comments below what you like to do to clear your mind and stay focused on achieving your dreams.  I would love to read them!  Also, how do you like this mixed print ensemble?  Some say there's a science behind pairing prints and colors, but I don't have the formula.  I just know what I think looks good and sometimes the mish-mash of clashing patterns and colors makes for a pretty interesting ensemble.   What do you think about this combo?  Yay or nay?  As always, until my next post, I am sending you all lots of love from my heart to yours!

"There's not enough rope to tie me down
There's not enough tape to shut this mouth
The stones you throw can make me bleed
But I won't stop until we're free
Wild hearts can't be broken
No, wild hearts can't be broken."
