Easy and Delicious Hummus @ Elizabeth, Marie, and Me


          I love, love, love hummus!  I usually pick some up at the store, but this time I decided to be adventurous and make my own version of it.  Nowadays you can find so many different kinds of hummus recipes on the internet, like edamame and zucchini hummus, but I wanted to stick to the basics and make a chickpea hummus.  It's perfect with pita chips or crisp fresh vegetables!  So without further ado, here is the recipe for my easy and delicious hummus:

Makes about 6-8 servings

Ingredients:
2 15oz. cans of chickpeas
1/4 cup tahini
3 cloves garlic
1/2 Tbs. ground cumin
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
Juice of 1 1/2 lemons
Salt to taste

Directions: 
Put all the ingredients into a food processor and process until the hummus has a smooth consistency.  If the mixture is too thick, you can always drizzle in a bit more olive oil or add a little water while food processor continues to blend the ingredients together.
