There are certain styles that just resonate with who I am and expresses my aesthetic, like chic off-the-shoulder tops and tailored high-waisted pants.  For me, sportswear is not really a style I'm comfortable with.  Maybe it's because I am as far from athletic as you can be or maybe it's because I don't feel like I "own" the style, I'm not sure.  However, it's fun to play "pretend" with fashion and try a new style that breaks you out of your comfort zone.  I recently enrolled in the Parsons x Teen Vogue Certificate Program- which I am thrilled to talk about in an upcoming blog post- and one of the optional assignments for the first course is to upload a photo of myself wearing a sportswear inspired outfit.  As a girly-girl, I decided to take a sporty-chic approach, that counts, right?
I rummaged through my closet to find pieces with an athletic silhouette and all I could find was this faux-leather skirt with a scrunched waistband and a pink bomber jacket.  I thought, "Hey, this could work!  Maybe all I need is a crop top to seal the deal."  So, I headed to my favorite department store, Nordstrom, and found this white and black crop top to complete my sporty look.  For this outfit, I tied the bomber jacket around my waist, stepped into my sky-high black and white platforms, and slipped on my Prada sunnies.  Finally, I decided to put on a few jewelry pieces to pull the whole look together.  What do you think? Let me know in the comments below.  I'm sending you lots of love from my heart to yours!
