Wild Wallflower

Have you ever read or come across articles that question, "What do your clothes say about you?" or "What do your accessories reveal about your personality?" I've read a few articles like these recently, and they got me thinking.    I do appreciate the science and psychology behind the theories, but I'd say that nine times out of ten, these articles are inaccurate when linking my personality to my style.  I truly believe everyone should wear whatever makes them feel most like themselves (as long as it's not discriminating or hurtful towards others), but I don't think clothing can completely define a person because we, humans, are highly complicated and complex multifaceted creatures.
Fashion is an art form and an outlet for self-expression that not everyone loves to indulge in, which is perfectly okay.  So, do we often judge others too quickly by what they wear?  Take first impressions for a job interview, for example.  What you wear does matter.  We don't like to think so, but it does.  Yes, your resume along with your skills and intelligence matters, but so does the way you dress.  Even if we dress for ourselves and not with the intention of gathering opinions from those around you, judgment forms whether it's communicated or not.

As a Scorpio, I can be both extroverted and introverted (Yes, we Scorpios are very complex, which makes us the most misunderstood astrological sign), which doesn't always accurately reflect through my style on a day-to-day basis.  I'd like to think of myself as a wild wallflower.  I love unique quirky pieces, but I also revel in a simple white tee and jeans.  This is probably why I love combining the two and wearing a simple classic base with at least one statement piece.
As for the outfit featured in this post, it definitely leans more to the "wallflower" side of my personality, but the deep v-neckline of this dress add a pinch of "wild."  I don't know about the floral print, though?  Wildflower or wallflower?  Let me know your thoughts in the comment section below.  Either way, I chose to style this midi dress with silver and black accessories.

Petite purses are so cute, but some days you just need a bigger one.  I chose to carry all of my essentials like my phone, wallet, and sunglasses that day in this functional chain strap purse.  Speaking of sunglasses, I channeled Stacey Bendet and opted for a round pair of sunnies.

To finish off the look, I buckled on a pair of my comfy pointed kitten heels and I wore a handful of silver jewelry pieces.  I felt as if the sophisticated boho vibe of this dress lent itself well to a pair of rustic chic Lucky Brand earrings, simple chain bracelets, and a rhinestone ring.

Whether you're a wildflower, a wallflower, or somewhere in between like me, may you have the courage to express yourself unapologetically through your voice, your talent, your actions, and your style.  I hope you enjoyed reading this post and thank you so much for stopping by my blog.  As always, I am sending you lots of love from my heart to yours!
