Sting Like a Bee

I'm revving up my style and serving up this sporty chic outfit today. Yes, it's a different look for me, and I'm loving it! My style vibe is usually fun and feminine with a touch of rocker-chic, but I'm all for trying out a new style. Let's be real, I am NOT athletic. I'm more an artistic, poetry-writing, savvy shopping kinda gal, but I tried my best to channel my sportier side for this look. For some reason, Muhammad Ali's words kept buzzing in my head throughout this photo shoot. "Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee."
Shein was so kind to send me this spaghetti strap crop top, and I knew I wanted to style it with these badass Fenty x Puma heeled booties. You may have seen me wear these exact heels in black on my Instagram, but I kept these bumble bee yellow heels safe and sound on my shelf. The bright color caught my attention in the store, but I hesitated in buying them. Although I adored them, I knew I wouldn't get a whole lot of wear out of them and honestly I didn't feel cool enough to pull them off. Luckily, I couldn't bear to add these canary beauties to my "Woulda, Coulda, Definitely, Shoulda Bought It" list, and I'm so happy that I ended up purchasing them. They match the yellow top perfectly, almost as if they were made for this outfit.
Staying true to the sporty vibe, I paired the crop top and booties with a pair of velour drawstring sweatpants and an Adidas jacket. It may be hard to believe, but before this photo shoot I had never worn sweatpants out in public and this jacket is the first and only Adidas item I've ever owned. What can I say? I was always a girly girl, and I still am. However, I felt so put-together, chic, and so comfortable in this outfit. I just may be an outfit repeater and don this exact look again . . . who knows?
For accessories, I opted for a simple pair of black cat-eye sunglasses and a mini black backpack. Of course, it wouldn't be a true Kristen outfit without at least one jewelry piece, so I added a pair of minimalist silver hoop earrings. Nothing too flashy, but I needed just enough shine to add a dash of glamour.
